We are a group of teachers in Victoria, BC. In 2015, we decided to change the way English is taught to international students. We knew that everyone is different; people have different backgrounds, interests, and dreams! We had also learned new languages, and fast.

Would it be possible to learn English quickly - in less than 6 months? How can people from different countries learn so much, so fast? What if learning English was interesting and designed for each person?

In November 2016, two organizations, Vancity and the Canadian Worker Co-op Federation, liked the idea of our school, so they loaned us some money to make sure that we would be able to offer this valuable service to anybody who has a dream of communicating their ideas to the world.

On June 20, 2016, we opened our dream school, Real English Victoria (REV). We are a special type of business called a worker co-operative. This means that the staff and teachers are also the owners of the school. We can make changes quickly to help our students learn better.

Since 2016, we have been providing students with a unique way of improving English communication skills that is interesting, effective, fun, and meaningful. We are a small school with small classes.

The teachers at REV have many years of learning languages and teaching others, and now we have shared the secret to learning English faster with over 300 people from all over the world.

Our mission is to provide innovative, student-led educational services; to create employment opportunities for co-op members; and to build a strong, diverse community.
